Ole Lynggaard introduces his stunning new collection KATRINE, inspired by the beauty of butterflies.
“I have always been fascinated by the butterfly and its details and the way that it floats through the air.
There is something dreamlike about it”, explains the designer, who with his new collection offers his interpretation of the delicate butterfly. It was a challenge to create a design that was both compact and elegant with so many components.

This jewellery design has been on the drawing board for years. New techniques have been developed in order for goldsmiths to handle the small intricate diamonds that embellish both the wings and the body of the butterfly. From a craftsmanship point of view it is an incredibly complicated and detailed design.

For Ole Lynggaard, the jewellery has to be contemporary yet classic, simple yet elegant at the same time.

The process can take years. When at last the metamorphosis is successful, and the materials surrender to the perfect form, the journey begins for the next piece of jewellery. Ole Lynggaard has once again achieved this with the butterfly collection KATRINE.
Ole Lynggaard has always found creatures of nature mesmerising - the elephant being the first example used in his designs. Subsequently, Ole began searching for new inspiration in his natural surroundings and found the butterfly, which, like the elephant symbolizes different things - eternity, beauty, freedom and love.
The KATRINE collection includes rings, earrings, brooches and interchangeable clasps. The series is crafted in 18kt rose-, white- and black gold and is available in different sizes and variations with diamonds.
